No Data Collection

JustMD does not collect, store, or transmit any personally-identifying information. The application has no accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics or tracking of any kind.

Local-Only Rendering

Markdown files are read and rendered entirely on your own device, both in the app window and in the Quick Look preview. Their contents are never uploaded to any server. PDF and e-mail HTML exports are produced locally and saved or copied only where you choose.

Remote Images

If a document references images on the internet — for example the badges at the top of a README — JustMD downloads them to display the document, as a web browser would. Those servers see an ordinary image request from your Mac. Remote images can be switched off with the command defaults write co.itbeaver.mdjustview RemoteImages -bool false, after which JustMD makes no network requests while rendering.

Files and Folders You Grant

JustMD reads the Markdown file you open and, to show its images, the folders you explicitly grant in Folder Access. The list of granted folders is kept on your Mac only and can be revoked at any time. When you edit or delete a selection, the change is written only to the file you are viewing.

Support E-mail

Help › Ideas & Support opens a draft in your own mail app containing the app version and macOS version. Nothing is sent unless you send that e-mail yourself.

Although most changes are likely to be minor, JustMD may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, at its sole discretion. We encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes. Your continued use of the application after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
